Sahej Athwal obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Osgoode Hall Law School and he was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2022. He joined Costa Law Firm as an Articling Student and became an Associate Lawyer with the firm. He has previously worked as an Advocate at a premier criminal defense office in India which dealt with money laundering, corruption and serious financial crimes.
Sahej assists senior counsel in various areas of law. He has a particular interest the area of criminal defense. He understands the immense pressure an individual experiences after being charged with criminal and regulatory offenses. He makes every effort to provide effective answers, defenses and alternative solutions.
He has achieved excellent results in several criminal cases involving Assault Offenses, Weapons Offenses, Property Offenses and Impaired Driving Offenses. Sahej has gained extensive experience in handling matters involving domestic violence.
Sahej is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Criminal Lawyer’s Association. He is also a member of the Bar Council of India.
